Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to optimize and govern distributed scheduling workloads. You will apply platform engineering practices to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing scheduling services across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.

In Randburg, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new workloads, maintain BMC Control-M infrastructure, and design complex job workflows with event-driven triggers to support business processes.

Qualifications

Requires hands-on experience with distributed scheduling platforms.
Strong knowledge of workload automation and scheduling services.
Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Apply platform engineering expertise to produce well-organised, optimised source code.
Manage and support BMC Control-M infrastructure across distributed environments.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve scheduling failures and workflow dependencies.
Design and maintain scheduling standards, governance and operational procedures.
Build complex job workflows, calendars, triggers and event-driven scheduling solutions.
Ensure platform stability, scalability, security and performance.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud and operations teams to onboard new workloads.
