Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to optimize and govern distributed scheduling workloads. You will apply platform engineering practices to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing scheduling services across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.

In Randburg, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new workloads, maintain BMC Control-M infrastructure, and design complex job workflows with event-driven triggers to support business processes.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on experience with distributed scheduling platforms.
• Strong knowledge of workload automation and scheduling services.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent.

• Apply platform engineering expertise in an agile team environment to produce well-organised, optimised and documented source code
• Manage and support BMC Control-M infrastructure across distributed environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve scheduling failures, job execution issues, and workflow dependencies
• Implement and maintain scheduling standards, governance, and operational procedures
• Design and optimise complex job workflows, calendars, triggers, and event-driven scheduling solutions

• Knowledge of event-driven scheduling, dependencies, calendars, and workload orchestration
• Experience supporting mission-critical batch processing environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
