Job summary

HyperionDev, a leading edtech company in Africa, seeks a PeopleOps Officer (Generalist) in Cape Town to manage the full employee lifecycle, performance processes, and HR operations across departments. This remote-friendly role supports onboarding, offboarding, policy application, and data accuracy within a dynamic education tech environment.

The position requires 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience, solid SA labour law knowledge, and hands-on HRIS skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HRBP experience managing diverse, non-sales functional teams (e.g., Tech/Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Ops).
• Proven track record in lifecycle administration, strong grasp of performance management frameworks, and experience managing PIPs.
• Solid South African labor law knowledge (BCEA, LRA) with direct experience executing formal disciplinary procedures and CCMA processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding journeys, contracts, 30/60/90-day probation, and offboarding with asset collection and revocation of system access.
• Prepare, issue, track, and renew employment contracts and addenda.
• Maintain 100% data integrity for all non-revenue employee profiles on the HRIS and manage records.
• Support performance reviews, KPI setting, and objective evaluations.
• Draft, implement, and monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Facilitate disciplinary actions, hearings, and grievances in line with labour laws.
• Ensure policy application and consistent HR guidance across departments.
• Partner with leadership in Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Education Operations to provide HR support.
• Maintain HR metrics on turnover, absenteeism, and lifecycle data.
