Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Payroll candidate to join our team. The position will be based at the Fidelity Head Office in Helderkruin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll transactions, handling pay-related queries, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining accurate employee records. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy and a professional approach to handling sensitive financial information.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Payroll certification will be and added advantage.
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar position.
- Experience in payroll processing or a related finance role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in payroll software preferably SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance is a plus.
- Should reside in the West Rand Area.
- Own reliable transport.
- No Criminal Record.
Key Responsibilities ( Not totally inclusive):
General Payroll Duties:
- Ensure payroll practices comply with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).
- Adherence to Group Policies and limits of authority regarding payroll processes.
- Capture and process employee payroll information accurately.
- Calculate salaries, wages, overtime, allowances, deductions, leave pay, and other earnings.
- Process new appointments, terminations, transfers, promotions, and salary adjustments.
- Ensure payroll is completed within prescribed deadlines.
- Reconcile payroll data before final processing.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Process medical aid, and funeral scheme applications.
- Accurately update and verify bank details for payroll processing.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and checks to maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Employee Records Management.
- Respond to payroll-related queries professionally and efficiently.
- Explain payslips, deductions, leave balances, and payroll policies to employees.
- Address and resolve payroll-related queries promptly.
- Assist employees with payroll forms and documentation when required.
- Handle monthly test packs and ensure timely actioning.
- Provide Group Payroll Support, including answering payroll-related queries and managing phone calls professionally.
- Proactively identify and report irregularities.
- Monitor compliance relating to:
- Working hours
- Overtime payments
- Public holidays
- Annual leave
- Sick leave
- Family responsibility leave
- Notice periods and terminations
- Assist with payroll-related labour audits and inspections.
Payment Processing Responsibilities:
