Placements24 is partnering with a Durban-based client to hire an Industrial Engineer focused on Operations Optimization. You will analyze and improve production and service workflows to maximize resource use and quality.

You’ll design layouts, implement lean practices including 5S and value stream mapping, and develop SOPs with staff training. A collaborative, fast-paced environment offers growth opportunities in a growing coastal hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years hands-on experience as an Industrial Engineer focused on operational improvement.
• Solid understanding of lean principles, 5S, and value stream mapping.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and layout CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, risks, and areas for productivity gains and cost reduction.
• Develop, test, and implement new processes to streamline workflows and enhance output.
• Design and optimize workstation layouts and material handling systems to improve safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production floor staff and management to gather insights and ensure successful implementation of changes.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and provide training to relevant personnel.
• Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and adjust as necessary for sustained improvements.
