About the Role

Our client, a leading entertainment venue operator in Vereeniging, Gauteng , is seeking a highly organized and experienced Operations Manager . This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring seamless delivery of services and exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include managing staffing, maintaining operational standards, implementing health and safety protocols, and optimizing efficiency across all departments. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong understanding of venue management, customer service excellence, and operational logistics. Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage daily venue operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and technical departments. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. Oversee staffing, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of operational teams. Ensure the venue meets all health, safety, and security regulations, conducting regular inspections. Manage budgets for operational expenditures, controlling costs and seeking opportunities for savings. Coordinate with event organizers, artists, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event execution. Maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality of service. Implement customer service standards and monitor customer feedback to enhance the guest experience. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the venue and its equipment. Develop and execute emergency response plans. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Requirements

A qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the entertainment, events, or hospitality industry. Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and complex operational environments. Strong understanding of health, safety, and security regulations relevant to public venues. Excellent financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets. Proven ability to implement and maintain high standards of customer service. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in relevant venue management software and MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
