Our client, an established retail organization with a diverse portfolio including convenience stores, cafes, and fuel services, is seeking a seasoned Operational Manager to lead their Northern Cape store. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated leader to make a significant impact on daily operations, customer experience, and financial controls.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

• Oversee and streamline daily store and forecourt operations to ensure efficiency and excellence.
• Identify, analyse, and address shortages and shrinkage through effective stock and wet stock management.
• Monitor site performance and generate precise operational and management reports using Excel.
• Lead recruitment, coaching, training, and mentorship initiatives to uphold service standards and operational consistency.
• Deliver a superior customer experience across all service points, including the forecourt, convenience store, and café outlets.
• Manage high-volume cash handling and ensure accurate financial reconciliation processes.
• Oversee fuel reconciliation and back-office fuel systems, including PDI and Dover Fueling Solutions.
• Guarantee full compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental standards, maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational workflows and adherence to policies and regulations.

Duties:

• Lead and manage daily store and forecourt operations.
• Minimise shortages and shrinkage through stock control and wet stock management.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports.
• Recruit, train, coach, and mentor staff.
• Ensure exceptional customer service delivery.
• Oversee financial controls, cash management, and fuel systems.
• Maintain HSSE compliance and safety standards.
• Implement operational improvements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' management experience in retail or similar environments.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and R for reporting and analysis.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Experience with financial management and stock control.
• Knowledge of fuel systems and back-office operations is advantageous.
• Ability to uphold safety standards and drive compliance.

Familiarity with the following:
