Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site service that keeps customer equipment running reliably and safely. You will repair, maintain, and support technology while building strong relationships with customers to minimise downtime.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will travel to customer sites, perform installations, calibrations, and preventative maintenance, and provide timely written reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned and ad hoc visits to inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair technical systems.
• Perform installations, ensure safety compliance, and document activities.
• Be the on-site contact, providing service recommendations and addressing customer needs.
• Provide technical service and support through on-site work and repairs.
• Continuously improve customer satisfaction.
• Calibrate and provide repairs on Industrial Power Tooling including electronic, pneumatic handheld and fixture tools.
• Provide the customer with technical support.
• Conduct regular line audits, providing technical support and guidance as required.
• Maintain records of all activities.
• Carry out calibrations and preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis according to laboratory and ISO procedures.
• Plan, manage and carry out installations at customers' premises.
• Ensure workshop documentation is complete and up to date.
• Provide written reports on repairs and incidents as requested by management or the customer.
• Provide advice and feedback to the Customer on equipment use.
• Work with Sales reps and customers to address support and technical issues.
