Job summary

Medipost in Bloemfontein seeks a pharmacist to ensure proper patient care under Good Pharmacy Practice, handling chemo-specific compounding and stock management for booked treatments.

The role requires at least 2 years of pharmacist experience, SAPC registration, and adherence to SOPs and quality standards; training on Medipost apps and ESS will be provided.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacist with SAPC registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a pharmacist including internship and community service.
• Completed admixture and Good Clinical Practice training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing patient booking lists and confirming treatment on hand for compounding.
• Receiving and monitoring stock against booking lists and reporting discrepancies.
• Chemo-specific compounding in accordance with SOPs and policies.
• Return of unused or canceled treatment for credit per SLA and returns policy.
• Adhere to GPP, POPI, ISO standards, and SAOC audit requirements.

Job description

The primary purpose of the job is to provide proper patient care as per GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice) regulations.Chemo-specific compounding guidelines ad hoc for pharmacists with relevant SOP/Policy.Reviewing patient booking lists and confirming treatment on hand for compounding.

Primary purpose of the job

• Reviewing patient booking lists and confirming treatment on hand for compounding
• Receiving & monitoring stock received against booking lists.
• Escalating any short supplies, damages, or discrepancies
• Compounding chemotherapy and supporting
• Return of unused or canceled treatment for credit purposes within SLA expectations
• Adhering to requirements according to the returns Policy
• Monitoring, selecting, and charging of consumables used per patient
• Working according to GPP and Medipost standards
• Adhering to OHS requirements and yearly medical surveillance requirements
• Adhering to ISO standards for auditing purposes.
• Chemo‑specific compounding guidelines ad hoc for the pharmacist with relevant SOP/Policy
• Assisting with clinical trial processes as prescribed by the clinical trial leader within reasonable limits
• Available for overtime and emergencies as requested, with relevant remuneration
• Liaising with Medipost Administrators in Bloemfontein on stock‑related issues, credit returns, and other stock management‑related issues.
• Compliance with the POPI regulations act
• Working within the scope of practice
• Assist practice staff with preparation for SAOC audits

Operational requirements

• Completion of daily work according to the Unit's requirements
• Accuracy when compounding
• Calls and emails received are handled professionally and confidentially with accurate information provided in a time‑conscious manner.
• Queries appropriately followed up and finalized.
• Attending to administrative work.
• Accuracy when checking & receiving stock.

Customer service and internal processcompliance (Quality assurance)

• I IR intervention (QA, IPC, Stock returns log, other)

3. Staff behaviour

• Productive and available according to the hours stipulated in the contract

• Eco time compliance with daily clocking procedures according to company policies and requirements
• TWB option used correctly by notifying the manager and subsequently completing the ESS process.
• Housekeeping compliance at 100% as per the company's expectations on quarterly audit.

Grade 12

EXPERIENCE
