Medipost Pharmacy invites applications for a Pharmacist in the Chronic Dispensing Unit in the Western Cape. The role focuses on monitoring dashboards, ensuring staffing, and maintaining PMP buffers while coordinating with line managers and IT/maintenance teams.

The successful candidate will hold a BPharm and SAPC registration, with 2–3 years’ experience in CDU dispensing or retail/pharmacy logistics, and experience with automated dispensing systems.

Qualificações

• BPharm degree or equivalent
• Registered with SAPC in good standing
• 2–3 years experience in courier/retail pharmacy or WC CDU dispensing

Responsabilidades

• Monitor production operational dashboard (GBI/WMS) to ensure efficiency and performance.
• Ensure staff targets are reached as per operational requirements.
• Maintain a 3 day buffer of completed PMPs at all times.
• Liaise with Line-manager regarding staff availability and locums.
• Ensure supply of consumables by liaising with consumable administrators.
• Capture and monitor staff leave, overtime and time keeping (ESS and Eco time).
• Assist with wave close out.
• Investigate, record and report facility complaints when required (helpdesk).
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and adhere to GPP/GWP.
• Complete IR interventions accurately and timeously.
• Coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Communicate and interpret SOPs and policies to staff.
• Respond to WCGH queries within 7 days.
• Attend daily/weekly team meetings.
• Conduct probation and performance evaluations (KPA).
• Report challenges affecting operations to Production or Deputy Production Manager.
• Report hardware/software issues to IT and CDU/MDU teams.
• Report any issue affecting medication quality or PMPs.
• Act as Tutor for LB, LPB and Pharmacist interns when needed.
• Perform any other task within scope of employment as requested.
• Partake in stock takes.

Medipost Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist in the Chronic Dispensing Unit which is being conducted for the Department of Health in the Western Cape.

Primary purpose of the job

• Monitor the relevant production operational dashboard (GBI/WMS) to ensure departmental efficiency and performance.
• Ensure staff targets are reached as per operational requirements.
• Maintaining a 3 day buffer of completed PMPs at all times.
• Liaise with Line-manager in connection with staff availability and when locums are needed.
• Ensure continual supply of consumables by liaising with consumable administrators.
• Capturing and monitoring of staff leave, overtime and time keeping (ESS and Eco time)
• Assist with wave close out.
• Investigation, recording and reporting of facility complaints when required (helpdesk report).
• Working productively and efficiently.
• Keeping high housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to GPP/GWP.
• Complete IR interventions accurately and timeously.
• Coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Communicating and interpreting company SOPs and policies to staff.
• Communicate and respond to WCGH queries within 7 days.
• Daily/Weekly team meetings.

• Reporting any challenges that influence the operations to the Production or Deputy Production manager
• Reporting faulty hardware and software issues to the IT department, ADU maintenance team, the CDU maintenance manager and the MDU maintenance team.
• Reporting any issue that affects the quality of medication items and pmp’s.
• Act as Tutor for LB, LPB and Pharmacist interns when needed.
• Any other task as requested by line manager within the employee’s scope of employment.
• Assisting in any other areas on the production line,
• Partaking in stock take(s).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BPharm
• SAPC Registration

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 – 3 years courier/ retail pharmacy or WC CDU dispensing experience
• Previous experience working with Automated Dispensing Systems and it’s Functionalities
