Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC principles and equipment (compressors, evaporators, condensers).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work long hours and be on call.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
• Valid certifications and licenses as required by the company and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Refrigeration Engineer in maintaining and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems onboard.
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC issues.
• Repair or replace defective components.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and ensure proper connections.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
• Train crew on proper operation and maintenance procedures.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations onboard.
• Keep inventory of spare parts and supplies.
• Communicate issues to Chief Refrigeration Engineer and collaborate on solutions.
