Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Shift Engineer on a cruise ship or similar vessel.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work long hours and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, generators, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor and maintain the ship's fuel, water, and oil levels.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Train and supervise junior engineering staff.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergencies as needed.
