Job summary

Be Different Recruitment in Gauteng seeks an IT support professional to provide desktop, hardware and software assistance for staff, including account management and password resets. The role requires on-site work with travel to data-centre facilities for physical server tasks.

You will aid server deployments, engage with hardware vendors, and support internal apps while maintaining SOPs and asset records. A driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric with IT Diploma or Certification (A+/N+ preferred).
• At least 3 years in help desk, IT support or junior systems administration.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for on-site work.
• Solid understanding of desktop hardware and software installation.
• Exposure to SFTP/FTP, SSH key-based authentication and Windows Server environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and endpoint protection tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day desktop, hardware and software support to staff, including account administration and password resets.
• Assist with server builds and live deployments in production.
• Travel to data-centre co-location facilities for physical server installs and changes.
• Request quotes and coordinate hardware/ software repairs with external vendors.
• Support and troubleshoot internal web applications and services and outages.
• Draft and maintain SOPs and knowledge-base articles for management.
• Maintain an accurate asset register of IT hardware and software.
