Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst in Bloemfontein to monitor and manage real-time network infrastructure. You will be the first line of defense against disruptions, ensuring availability and performance of critical telecommunication services across the Free State.

The role requires sharp observational skills, rapid response capabilities, and strong communication with internal teams and service providers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in IT/Telecommunications or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years in a network monitoring or NOC environment.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP protocols.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Nagios.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability with NOC tools.
• Identify, diagnose and respond to alerts promptly.
• Troubleshoot and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to monitor and manage their network infrastructure in real-time. Based in Bloemfontein , you will be the first line of defense against network disruptions, ensuring the continuous availability and performance of critical telecommunication services. This role requires sharp observational skills, rapid response capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of network stability. You will be a key player in safeguarding the operational integrity of our client's network across the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and systems.
• Identify, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and incidents promptly.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of network issues and elevate complex problems to senior engineers.
• Document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external service providers during critical events.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in IT, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a network monitoring or NOC environment.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and common network devices.
• Experience with network monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, if required for the role in Bloemfontein .
