Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and skilled Telecoms NOC Analyst to monitor the network infrastructure in Benoni 24/7, ensuring availability and optimal performance of telecoms services. You will work with senior engineers to resolve incidents and support teams to maintain stability.

The role requires familiarity with NMS/EMS tools, TCP/IP basics, and the ability to work shifts including nights and weekends; CompTIA Network+ or CCNA is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a NOC environment or network operations role.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and common network devices.
  • Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by the NOC schedule.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network traffic, performance, and availability using advanced NMS/EMS tools.
  • Detect, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of network issues, escalating to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Document all network events, incidents, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders during network outages or performance degradations.
  • Assist in the implementation of network changes and maintenance activities under supervision.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and skilled Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their team in Benoni . In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring the company's network infrastructure 24/7, identifying and responding to network outages, performance issues, and security threats. Your primary goal will be to ensure the continuous availability and optimal performance of our telecommunications services. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong technical skills and a calm demeanor under pressure to contribute to a critical operational function within the telecoms industry . You will work closely with senior engineers and support teams to resolve incidents effectively.

Key Responsibilities
