Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and enterprise firewall platforms.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and PRTG.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is central to maintaining and enhancing the robust network infrastructure that supports our client's diverse range of services and client operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network design, implementation, security, and troubleshooting across various enterprise-level environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and scalability of our network, working proactively to anticipate and resolve potential issues. This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a passion for staying at the forefront of network technology. As a remote-first employee, you'll collaborate closely with distributed teams to deliver seamless connectivity and advanced network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.


• Configure, deploy, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.


• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues proactively.


• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.


• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.


• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to meet growing business demands.


• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services with other systems.


• Respond to network alerts and incidents, providing timely resolution and post-incident analysis.


• Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry best practices.


• Participate in on-call rotation for network emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and administration.


• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and VLANs.


• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto).


• Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.


• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).


• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.


• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
