Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Specialist to design, implement, and manage enterprise networks with a focus on high availability and security. This mostly remote role includes occasional travel to our Pretoria headquarters for critical milestones.

You will architect scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior engineers while partnering with security and cloud teams to optimize performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in design and operation of enterprise networks.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex networks.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructures (LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN).
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from multiple vendors.
• Enforce network security policies and best practices.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, ensure high availability.
• Document configurations and procedures; maintain diagrams.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support.
• Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with major network hardware vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP).
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
