Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mobile Catering Unit Manager to oversee our Mossel Bay operations in the Western Cape. You will manage day-to-day unit activity, ensure high-quality food and service, and lead a team of chefs and service staff across multiple locations.

The role requires strong logistics, inventory control, route planning, and strict adherence to health and safety standards. A dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced catering environment will excel in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in food service management or related operations.
• Experience supervising and scheduling staff.
• Strong food safety knowledge (HACCP) and vehicle compliance.
• Excellent organisation and planning skills.
• Valid driver's license; PDP advantageous.
• Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.

Responsabilités

• Manage all aspects of mobile catering unit operations for efficiency and profitability.
• Lead, train, and schedule staff including chefs and service crew.
• Oversee food prep, quality control, and menu adherence.
• Manage inventory of supplies and minimize waste.
• Ensure unit is clean and compliant with health and safety regs.
• Plan routes and schedules for daily/weekly service.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve service issues.
• Manage unit budget including fuel, maintenance and supplies.
• Maintain records of sales, expenses, inventory and staff performance.
• Foster a positive team environment.
