Placements24 is seeking a results-oriented Project Manager for our mining client in Rustenburg, North West. You will drive operational efficiency, manage capital projects, and integrate new technologies across mine functions.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a technical engineering background, and at least seven years of project management experience in mining or heavy industry. Relocation support may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mining/engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Track record of delivering projects with measurable improvements.
• Strong knowledge of mining processes and equipment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in Rustenburg/North West region is highly desirable.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or similar accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and execute projects to improve mining efficiency, safety and productivity.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
• Develop detailed scopes, budgets, schedules and resource plans.
• Collaborate with mine managers, engineers and operations teams to implement improvements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses for proposed projects.
• Track progress, address deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, safety standards and environmental policies.
• Prepare and present project reports to senior management.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/contractors.
