Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of a large mining fleet in Upington, Northern Cape. Lead a team of mechanics, technicians, and supervisors to implement robust maintenance strategies, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and maximize equipment availability.

You will drive preventive and corrective maintenance, manage budgets, and optimize CMMS usage to track history and performance while collaborating with operations, engineering and procurement to meet

Qualifications

• Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in maintenance management in mining or heavy equipment.
• Experience managing large fleets and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage maintenance strategies for mining equipment.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team, including supervisors, mechanics and technicians.
• Ensure safety compliance in all maintenance activities.
• Optimize maintenance schedules to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
• Manage the maintenance budget and control costs for labor, parts, and services.
• Oversee spare parts inventory for timely availability and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and manage CMMS for work orders, history and performance tracking.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to support targets and projects.
