Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team for heavy mining equipment in Benoni, South Africa. The role is focused on optimizing fleet performance, minimizing downtime and maintaining high safety standards.

You will supervise daily maintenance activities, manage spare parts inventory, train technicians, and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve reliability and uptime in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification with supervisory experience in heavy equipment.
• 5+ years maintaining heavy mining or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proven leadership and team management capability.
• Familiar with CMMS and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance technicians and activities.
• Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns with minimal downtime.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training for staff.
