Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join our team in Polokwane. You will map underground and surface workings, establish survey control networks, and support planning, development, and production with precise spatial data.

The role requires a National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics, professional registration, and 4+ years of experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vulcan and Surpac is essential; on-site work in challenging mining environments is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics required.
• Professional registration with a surveying body (e.g., PLATO) is required.
• Minimum 4 years of mine surveying experience, preferably in South Africa.
• Proficiency with surveying software AutoCAD, Vulcan and Surpac; experience with digital survey equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys for mine development, production, and volumetric calculations.
• Utilize total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks for underground and surface operations.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and geological data.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards for mine surveying.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers, geologists and operations personnel to provide spatial data.
• Perform reconciliations of ore and waste volumes.
