Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Manager in East London to lead the planning department. You will oversee short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, integrating geology, operations, and economics to maximize safety, productivity, and resource recovery.

You will manage a planning team, collaborate across departments, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement in planning practices and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mine planning and operations, with significant exposure to different mining methods.
• Proven expertise in mine planning software and geological modeling interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage integrated short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans.
• Ensure mine plans are optimized for safety, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and resource recovery.
• Lead and mentor the mine planning team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Liaise with geological, engineering, and operations departments to ensure effective integration of plans.
• Monitor plan execution and implement necessary adjustments to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure all mine planning activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental standards.
