About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Mine Operations Superintendent to oversee day-to-day mining activities at their site in East London . This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources, managing production targets, and leading a diverse operational workforce. You will work closely with mine planning, maintenance, and technical services to achieve operational excellence. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of mining operations, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the mining industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.


• Ensure all activities are conducted in strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies.


• Achieve production targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for volume, grade, and cost control.


• Supervise, train, and develop a team of shift supervisors, operators, and other operational personnel.


• Collaborate with the mine planning team to implement short-term mine plans effectively.


• Oversee equipment utilization and performance, working with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field.


• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
