Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Cape Town to strengthen its Building Services practice. You will lead HVAC design tasks, apply BIM tools like Revit/ACC, and drive projects from concept through construction with senior guidance where needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical engineering degree with 3+ years in building services, and you will work on projects including data centres, healthcare facilities, and clean rooms. This role is on site in Cape Town with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have a BEng / BSc / BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years' post-graduation working experience in building services.
• Experience in HVAC design and construction monitoring for data centres, clean rooms, healthcare facilities or similar sectors.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high level of technical proficiency across mechanical systems.
• Manage projects from inception to closeout with supervision as needed.
• HVAC design and load calculations, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Specify and approve specialist equipment for projects.
• Lead QA/QC and site supervision during construction and commissioning.
