Job summary

WSP South Africa in Cape Town is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years' experience in Building Services to join our expanding team.

The role focuses on HVAC design, project delivery from inception to closeout, BIM modelling with Revit and ACC, and collaboration with clients to deliver tailored building services solutions.

Experience with medical gases, utilities, wet services and fire engineering is advantageous; professional registration with ECSA is preferred.

Qualifications

• B Eng / BSc / BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years post-graduation in building services.
• Experience in HVAC design and construction monitoring in building services.
• Working knowledge of Revit and document management systems such as Autodesk ACC, Forma.
• Experience in Medical Gases, Mechanical Utilities, Refrigeration, Wet Services/ Public, Fuel System Design, Vertical Transportation and Fire Engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Possess a high level of technical proficiency and manage projects from inception to closeout.
• Proficient in HVAC design including heat load calculations and ventilation conforming to standards.
• Lead tender documentation and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) preparation.
• Oversee contractor and contract management within mechanical discipline.
• Provide site supervision and QA/QC across project stages.
