Placements24 seeks an experienced Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to boost production capabilities at a Richards Bay facility. You will optimize processes, enhance equipment efficiency, and drive continuous improvements on the shop floor and in design/analysis roles.

The role demands a strong blend of theory and hands-on manufacturing experience, with a focus on executing practical solutions to production challenges in a hybrid on-site/remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly, and automation).
• Experience with CAD software for tooling and fixture design.
• Proficiency in SPC and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with shop floor personnel and management.
• Experience with project management is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production teams to address manufacturing issues and implement solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the shop floor.
• Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturability and defining production processes.
