Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager for a luxury hotel in Hermanus, Western Cape. You will support the General Manager to oversee hotel operations and uphold the highest service standards, ensuring an exceptional guest experience across the property.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience across Rooms Division, Front Office and F&B, and a passion for luxury hospitality. The position is live-out with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a luxury hotel is essential.
• Strong operational experience across Rooms Division, Front Office and Food & Beverage.
• Thorough understanding of luxury guest service and hotel standards.
• Confident leadership and people-management abilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Highly professional and guest-focused.
• Strong financial and administrative understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the hotel.
• Oversee Rooms Division, Front Office and Guest Services operations.
• Provide operational support across Food & Beverage outlets.
• Maintain exceptional luxury service and brand standards.
• Proactively manage guest feedback, requests and service recovery.
• Lead, motivate and develop departmental teams.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments.
• Monitor operational performance, staffing levels and service delivery.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and achievement of financial targets.
• Act as the senior manager on duty when required.
