About the Role

Our client, an exquisite luxury guest house situated in the picturesque coastal town of George, Western Cape , is actively seeking a sophisticated and detail-oriented Guest House Manager. This role is paramount to maintaining and elevating the exclusive guest experience that defines this property. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all guest house operations, ensuring impeccable service delivery, property upkeep, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of guest accommodation, including bookings, check-in/check-out procedures, and guest services.
• Manage and train housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and property presentation.
• Develop and implement service standards that align with a luxury guest experience.
• Manage supplier relationships and oversee inventory for amenities, linens, and food and beverage supplies.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints efficiently and courteously, striving for exceptional service recovery.
• Prepare and manage the guest house budget, controlling expenses and exploring revenue enhancement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Coordinate with external service providers, such as caterers or tour operators, as needed.
• Maintain the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the property, overseeing minor repairs and renovations.
• Foster a welcoming and personalized atmosphere for all guests.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in hospitality management, preferably within a luxury guest house, boutique hotel, or high-end B&B.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities, with a refined, professional demeanor.
• Experience in financial management, including budgeting and expense control.
• Proficiency in reservation systems and general computer literacy.
• A passion for creating unique and memorable guest experiences.
• Knowledge of the local area and attractions in George, Western Cape is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by the nature of the business.
