About the Role

Our client, a charming and highly-rated guesthouse situated in the scenic locale of Rustenburg, North West , is seeking an experienced and dedicated General Manager to lead its operations. This role is perfect for a hospitality professional with a hands-on approach, passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the property's excellent reputation. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the guesthouse, overseeing staff, managing finances, ensuring high standards of service, and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations of the guesthouse, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B if applicable.
• Manage and lead the guesthouse team, ensuring effective performance, training, and motivation.
• Handle guest reservations, inquiries, and ensure all guest needs are met with exceptional service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation throughout the property.
• Manage procurement, inventory, and control operational costs to ensure profitability.
• Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to attract and retain guests.
• Oversee financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local suppliers, businesses, and the community.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a guesthouse or boutique hotel setting.
• Proven experience in staff management, guest relations, and operational oversight.
• Strong understanding of guesthouse operations, including reservations systems, front desk procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• A customer-focused attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility in working hours.
• Knowledge of the Rustenburg area and local tourism attractions is an advantage.
• Must be proficient in using property management systems.
• Residency and legal right to work in South Africa .
