About the Role

Our client, a prominent retail distribution company, is looking for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee operations at their busy distribution center in Port Elizabeth , Eastern Cape. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient flow of goods, managing inventory, and coordinating outbound transportation. You will lead a team of warehouse staff and drivers, implementing best practices to optimize workflow, minimize errors, and maintain high levels of productivity. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your leadership and operational expertise will directly impact the success of our distribution network in the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse personnel and delivery drivers.
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations within the Port Elizabeth facility.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures for safety, security, and operational efficiency.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stocktakes, and ensure accuracy of records.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
• Schedule and coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to retail stores and customers.
• Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports on operational efficiency, costs, and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, warehouse management, or a supervisory role within a distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
• Experience in managing and motivating a team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.

• Must reside in or be able to commute to Port Elizabeth , with occasional remote oversight required.
