About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing enterprise in the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced and diligent Logistics Supervisor to oversee their distribution operations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods, managing a team of logistics personnel, and maintaining high standards of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse and transportation logistics, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be instrumental in coordinating daily logistics activities, optimizing workflows, and contributing to the overall success of our client's supply chain in the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily logistics activities, including receiving, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing training and performance management.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders and shipments.
• Monitor inventory levels and participate in stocktaking activities.
• Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Logistics or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Proven experience in supervising teams and managing daily operations.
• Good understanding of warehouse management principles and inventory control.
• Familiarity with logistics software and MS Office applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape for the hybrid working arrangement.
