Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record of managing complex logistics operations.
• Experience with 3PLs, carriers, and vendor management.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, TMS and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding e-commerce enterprise, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Operations Manager to oversee and optimize their distribution network in the Eastern Cape, specifically based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape . This role demands a strategic leader with extensive experience in supply chain management, warehousing, and transportation, focused on driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations, implementing innovative solutions, and leading a dedicated team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, and transportation, within the Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape region.


• Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to support business growth, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.


• Oversee the performance of third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and service level standards.


• Lead, train, and motivate a team of logistics professionals and warehouse staff to achieve operational targets.


• Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize stock discrepancies.


• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within warehouse and transportation operations.


• Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to enhance supply chain visibility and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.


• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.


• Proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape , or a similar industrial hub.


• Strong knowledge of warehousing operations, inventory management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems.


• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


• Proficiency in data analysis, performance metric tracking, and reporting.


• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.


• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic e-commerce environment.
