Placements24 is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee inbound and outbound logistics in Port Elizabeth. Lead transportation, warehousing, and inventory management while developing and implementing efficient strategies.

Manage a team of logistics professionals and drive operational excellence within a large-scale supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in complex logistics operations and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale logistics operations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation modes, warehousing, and inventory management best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies to optimize supply chain performance.
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the logistics department, including warehousing and transportation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals to achieve departmental goals.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
