About the Role

Our client, a leading logistics and transportation company, is seeking an experienced and proactive Logistics Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet operations in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This position is critical for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of our client's vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for managing fleet maintenance schedules, driver performance, fuel consumption, and compliance with all transportation regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, excellent leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of vehicle maintenance and logistics. This is an on-site role based at our operational hub in Nelspruit , offering a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a vital component of our client's success. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring optimal performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet maintenance programs to minimize downtime and repair costs.
• Manage driver schedules, performance, and conduct regular training on safety and compliance.
• Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency.
• Ensure the fleet complies with all national and local transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Manage relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and other third-party service vendors.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet vehicles, maintenance, driver logs, and expenses.
• Implement and manage telematics systems for tracking vehicle location, performance, and driver behavior.
• Conduct regular fleet inspections and audits to ensure adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
• Contribute to budget planning and cost control initiatives related to fleet operations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, with a strong understanding of commercial vehicle operations.
• Proven experience in managing vehicle maintenance, repair, and lifecycle planning.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A valid driver's license is required.
