Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Logistics Coordinator for a busy distribution center in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will manage receiving, storage, and dispatch, coordinate shipments with transport providers, and maintain accurate inventory using WMS.

You will generate reports, ensure safety procedures, and support the Warehouse Supervisor in daily tasks, contributing to high service levels for a diverse customer base while growing within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certificate in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a logistics or warehousing coordination role.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Familiarity with South African logistics regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment in Tembisa, Gauteng.
• Basic understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Liaise with transport providers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
• Manage and update inventory records accurately using the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Prepare shipping documents, including manifests, bills of lading, and customs declarations where applicable.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers regarding shipment status and potential delays.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in the planning of replenishment orders.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security procedures within the warehouse.
• Assist in the resolution of logistical issues and discrepancies.
• Generate reports on operational performance, inventory accuracy, and delivery timeliness.
• Support the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager in daily operational tasks and special projects.
