Job summary

Grindrod Logistics is seeking a Business Development professional based in Johannesburg to grow revenue within the regional client base. You will identify opportunities across warehousing, transport and depot services, engage with customers to tailor solutions, and drive the sales cycle from inquiry through proposal to contract.

You will maintain relationships with existing clients, act as the commercial contact, and coordinate with internal teams on pricing, tenders and documentation.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate diploma/bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing.
• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven track record of sales growth.
• Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop opportunities within the existing client base across Grindrod Logistics services (warehousing, transport, depot).
• Engage with prospective customers to understand logistics requirements and propose solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and act as commercial contact.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, tenders and RFQs with pricing guidance.
• Maintain Salesforce/CRM pipeline and track opportunity progress.
• Support account growth, cross-selling and service expansion.
• Coordinate with internal teams on pricing, contracts and documentation.
• Ensure timely communication of customer requirements and actions.
