Job summary

Time Personnel in Cape Town is recruiting a Logistics Administrator to support imports logistics and supply chain administration. Based in the southern suburbs, the role requires attention to detail and proactive collaboration with suppliers and freight forwarders.

Qualifications

  • Two to three years imports logistics & supply chain administration experience.
  • Imports experience is essential.
  • Logistics & supply chain experience essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within the logistics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track international inbound shipments.
  • Receive stock, monitor waybills, maintain records.
  • Communicate with overseas suppliers and freight forwarders.
  • Monitor customs clearance and escalate issues.
  • Coordinate with outsourced warehouses and couriers.
  • Manage receipting, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Ensure shipments arrive on time and stock is checked.
  • Maintain the store area and manage consumables.
  • Record and control stock movements leaving the warehouse.
  • Contribute to freight cost analyses and cost reductions.

Our International company based in the southern suburbs specialising in the fast-moving world of international and local logistics operations requires a detail-driven, experienced logistics Administrator who has initiaitve, is eager to learn, proactive by nature, and wants to further their career in supply chain operations.

Requirements:
  • Matric with relevant qualifications advantageous
  • Experience in IMPORTS essential
  • Experience in LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN essential

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of international inbound shipments
  • Receive stock, monitor waybills, and maintain accurate shipment records
  • Communicate with overseas suppliers and freight forwarders
  • Monitor customs clearance processes and elevate issues where necessary
  • Coordinate with outsourced warehouse and courier partners
  • Manage the receipting, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods
  • Ensure shipments arrive as planned and that stock is checked, unpacked, and relabeled correctly
  • Maintain the store area and manage consumable orders
  • Record and control all stock movements leaving the warehouse
  • Consolidate freight by proactively managing factory shipping schedules
  • Complete freight forwarder reports and perform freight cost and profit analyses
  • Conduct regular cost comparisons for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Coordinate the annual freight tender process
  • Manage and organise supply chain documentation efficiently
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
  • Maintain a responsive and professional approach to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate actively in business improvement projects and initiatives
