Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Rustenburg to drive significant process improvements across production facilities. You will analyze current processes, identify waste, and implement lean and Six Sigma methodologies to achieve higher efficiency and lower costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within manufacturing.
• Proven experience applying lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification is a strong plus).
• Proficiency in process mapping, data analysis, and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, workflow optimization, and layout design.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analyses of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement lean manufacturing tools and techniques (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen).
• Lead Six Sigma projects aimed at reducing defects and improving process capability.
• Develop and optimize production line layouts and material flow to enhance productivity.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for production processes.
• Collaborate with production staff, supervisors, and management to implement changes and ensure adoption.
• Create and update SOPs and work instructions.
• Perform root cause analysis for production problems and develop solutions.
• Train and mentor operational staff on new processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential adoption to improve efficiency.
