Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Operations Excellence Engineer to champion continuous improvement initiatives in Richards Bay. The role focuses on Lean Six Sigma to reduce waste, improve quality, and boost productivity across industrial operations.

You will partner with plant management and operations teams to implement sustainable process improvements, monitor KPIs, and drive performance. This position offers opportunities to shape operational strategies in a major industrial hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Lean Manufacturing.
• Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex improvement projects and managing change.
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process modeling.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Six Sigma projects from initiation to completion.
• Conduct process audits and assessments to identify root causes of inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement training programs on continuous improvement tools for staff.
• Monitor KPIs related to operational efficiency, cost, and quality and report progress.
• Drive adoption of best practices and standardized work across operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence goals.
