Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl is seeking an Industrial Engineer with Lean Manufacturing expertise to lead continuous improvement across our production operations.

You will spearhead Lean initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S and VSM, analyze data, and mentor shop-floor teams to drive efficiency, quality and cost reductions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering and at least five years of hands-on experience translating Lean concepts into practical results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in an industrial engineering role with a strong focus on Lean methodologies.
• Proven experience implementing Lean initiatives (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, JIT).

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools across the production floor.
• Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) exercises to identify waste and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement 5S programs to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workplace.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for waste reduction.
• Train and mentor employees on Lean concepts and their application in daily work.
