Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Mechanical Design Engineer in South Africa. You will Conceptualize and design innovative mechanical solutions for next-generation projects, working autonomously with minimal supervision from a home office.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of seven years’ experience in mechanical design, including rapid prototyping, DFMA, and advanced CAD/simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and development with a track record of innovation.
• Expert proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360) and simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
• Experience in conceptual design, rapid prototyping, and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of advanced concepts and prototypes.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and assemblies with CAD software.
• Perform stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with distributed team of engineers, researchers, and product managers.
