Placements24 is seeking a Lead Recruitment Specialist in Durban to lead a high-performance team focused on mining and engineering sectors. You will drive business development initiatives, manage senior-level placements, and ensure top-tier service delivery across South Africa.

You will oversee complex projects, analyze talent landscapes, and build long-term client relationships while ensuring compliance with recruitment regulations and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in recruitment, with focus on Mining/Engineering sectors
• Leadership or team management experience
• Proven track record in business development and client management
• Deep understanding of Mining/Engineering talent landscape in KwaZulu-Natal and nationally
• Exceptional negotiation, communication and influencing skills
• Experience with advanced recruitment methodologies and ATS platforms
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., B.Com, B.Eng, HR-related) desirable

This senior position is designed for a professional with extensive experience in niche sectors, specifically Mining and Engineering. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, driving business development initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery to a portfolio of high-profile clients across South Africa . This role is critical to expanding Our client's market presence and reputation in the specialized fields of mining and engineering recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of recruitment consultants, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to acquire new clients in the Mining and Engineering sectors.
• Oversee complex recruitment projects, ensuring timely and successful placements of senior and specialist roles.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify talent pools, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years' experience in recruitment, with a significant focus on the Mining and/or Engineering industries.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or team management role.
• A proven track record of success in business development and client relationship management.
• Deep understanding of the specialized skills and talent landscape within the Mining and Engineering sectors in KwaZulu-Natal and nationally.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
• Experience with advanced recruitment methodologies and ATS platforms.
• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., B.Com, B.Eng, or HR-related degree) is highly desirable.
