Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Event Catering Supervisor for on-site leadership at events in Nelspruit. You will manage catering teams, coordinate with kitchen and bar staff, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages with exceptional service.

Requirements include at least 4 years in a supervisory catering role, strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work evenings and weekends in Mpumalanga.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role within catering or hospitality.
• Proven experience in managing on-site event execution.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as dictated by event schedules.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown.
• Ensure adherence to service standards, menu specifications, and client requirements for each event.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
• Manage event logistics, including equipment, linen, and other operational needs.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety throughout the event.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client on-site during events, addressing any concerns or requests.
• Conduct pre-event briefings with the catering team to ensure clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
• Report on event execution, including staff performance and any operational challenges encountered in Nelspruit.
