The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of mining project management, familiarity with EPCM methodologies, and professional registration (Pr. Eng is a strong asset).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion dedicated to capital projects within the mining industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex mining capital projects (e.g., new mine development, shaft sinking, plant construction).
• Strong understanding of mining engineering principles, project controls, and EPCM methodologies.
• Experience with contract management, procurement, and vendor relations.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr. Eng) is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project execution plans for capital projects, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
• Lead and manage project teams comprising internal staff, external consultants, and contractors.
• Oversee the implementation of mining infrastructure, plant upgrades, and equipment installations.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards throughout all project phases.
• Manage procurement processes, including the selection and management of vendors and contractors.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders, including senior management, operational teams, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage project financials, track costs, and ensure projects are delivered within approved capital budgets.
• Conduct regular project reviews, site visits, and progress meetings.
• Ensure seamless handover of completed capital projects to the relevant operational departments.
