Placements24 in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, invites applications for Chief Mine Surveyor to lead the surveying department across surface and underground operations. You will ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high-quality spatial data for exploration, design, development, and production.

The role requires a Mine Surveying degree, Pr.Min.Surv registration, 10+ years in mining surveying, leadership skills, and proficiency with Trimble, Leica, Topcon systems, Deswik, Vulcan, AutoCAD and GIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or related field.
• Professional registration as Pr.Min.Surv is mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive mine surveying experience with leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage open-pit and underground projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying instruments and data processing software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mine surveying for surface, underground, and topographical work.
• Maintain primary mine survey control network with integrity.
• Provide survey data for mine planning, design, and operations.
• Lead QA/QC procedures for surveying activities.
• Mentor and develop a team of surveyors and technicians.
• Collaborate with management, engineering, geology and operations.
• Evaluate new surveying technologies for implementation.
• Manage survey budgets and resources.
