Placements24 in Vereeniging seeks a Senior Information Security Analyst to join our hybrid team. You will lead security investigations, design advanced defenses, and mentor junior analysts while working across on-site and remote settings.

The ideal candidate has a 5+ year track record in information security, CISSP/CISA/GIAC, hands-on with SIEM, cloud security, scripting, and threat intelligence, and a passion for strengthening defenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on analysis and incident response.
• Expertise in SIEM solutions, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure) and container security.
• Demonstrated experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Relevant advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or GIAC are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the investigation and response to complex security incidents, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Develop and maintain advanced threat detection and prevention capabilities.
• Conduct in-depth risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
• Design and implement security architecture improvements and solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior security analysts, fostering their professional development.
• Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats and technologies, advising on strategic security enhancements.
