Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our team in Rustenburg. You will monitor security systems, analyze threats, and implement defensive measures to protect data and infrastructure.

This role offers hands-on experience in a challenging cybersecurity environment with a flexible hybrid arrangement in Rustenburg. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS and 1–3 years in cybersecurity, with knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and SIEM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 1–3 years of cybersecurity or related IT experience.
• Understanding of network security principles, firewalls and VPNs.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activities and security breaches.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Respond to security incidents, document findings, and support containment efforts.
• Assist in development and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure secure implementation of systems and applications.
