Placements24 in Nelspruit is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to elevate cybersecurity posture. Based in Nelspruit with some remote flexibility, you will design, implement, and maintain security systems to safeguard our digital assets.

The role requires 5+ years in information security with expertise in network and application security, cryptography, and security tooling. You will lead incident responses and stay current with threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, InfoSec or related field.
• 5+ years in information security with engineering/ops focus.
• Strong knowledge of network, application security, cryptography.
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, scanners.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CEH desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security measures for networks, apps, and data.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and scans.
• Develop and enforce security policies and guidelines across the org.
• Respond to incidents with containment and recovery strategies.
• Monitor security logs for threats and anomalies.
• Stay up-to-date with threats, vulnerabilities, and tech.
