Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Senior Cybersecurity Analyst specializing in Threat Detection to join our security team in Benoni. The role focuses on monitoring security systems, analyzing threats, and developing proactive defenses to safeguard digital assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity with focus on threat detection and incident response.
• Strong understanding of networking, security principles and attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint security solutions.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM/IDS/EDR to detect incidents.
• Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules and methodologies.
• Respond to and investigate incidents, coordinating containment and eradication.
• Perform threat hunting to identify unknown threats within the network.
• Provide regular reports on security posture and incident activity.
